This Week on Purple Day: Where Has Father Sun Gone?
Purple Day is a podcast from Storytime in the Schoolhouse. Our Purple Day podcasts are the audio from Storytime’s Monday episodes. Purple Day is a podcast program for preschoolers and young children and includes a weekly rhythm of nature-based songs and stories. Purple Day will teach you and your child seasonal songs and stories as well as mindful breathing exercises to share with your young child or preschooler.
In this week's episode of Purple Day, we will first have circle time when we pretend to be gnomes under the circle. Then we hear a story about some animal friends who miss the longer, warmer days and wonder when the sun will return. Enjoy Storytime with your child and deepen your connection to each other and the world around you.
This Week on Purple Day
Every Purple Day, or Monday, we are inside the schoolhouse for circle time and storytime.
During circle time we enjoy singing and reciting nature-based, seasonal songs and poems. As the month progresses, we continue to learn new verses to our songs and poems. We also practice a deep breathing exercise on Mondays.
After circle time, we hear a story together. We listen to nature stories and folk tales during the third and fourth weeks of the month. Today we hear the story of Where Has Father Sun Gone? In this story, the creatures of the forest miss Father Sun and worry he may never return. They decide to go visit him and ask him when he will return.
