About this Episode
In this week's episode of Purple Day, we will sing songs about pumpkins and lanterns and then hear a story about a little mouse who moves to a new house. This Storytime episode will teach you and your child seasonal songs, poems, fingerplays, and a nature-based story. Enjoy Storytime with your child and deepen your connection to each other and the world around you.
Every Purple Day, or Monday, we are inside the schoolhouse for circle time and storytime.
We enjoy singing and reciting nature-based, seasonal songs and poems during circle time. As the month progresses, we learn new song and poem verses. We also practice a deep breathing exercise on Mondays.
After circle time, we hear a story together. This week, we hear a pedagogical or teaching tale. Today, we hear the story of a little mouse who moves to a new house.
About the Story
Little Mouse’s family is moving to a new house, and Little Mouse is worried! He is worried that he will never see his toys or things again, and he is also concerned that he will never love a house as much as this one. Even though moving is hard and scary, Little Mouse learns it can be exciting. He finds all his toys and belongings waiting in boxes at his new house. And, with some time, he learns to love his new home as much as his old one.
